Nashville Symphony Fashion Show with Jason Wu and Little Big Town
The Symphony Fashion show brought Nashville the stunning designs of Jason Wu on April 17th, 2018 and I was honored to be on the media coverage team of this stylish event.
I've been a fan of Jason Wu for a while now, having viewed the stunning inaugural gown he designed for First Lady Michelle Obama that is featured in the Smithsonian American History Museum
He has worked with countless Hollywood stars and made his mark on the global fashion scene.
The Jason Wu Fall 2018 collection was featured on Nashville models at the stylish soiree at Nashville's beautiful art deco building, Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The annual event also featured country super group Little Big Town.
The Fall 2018 collection floated down the runway on familiar faces, local models including Nashville's own Miss Tennessee Teen USA Sofie Rovenstine, as well as models I recognized from Nashville Fashion Week. Languid and sleek silhouettes like red slip dresses, mixed in with jaw dropping red carpet ready showstoppers like this one that I literally gasped in awe of....a dark emerald green with dropped shoulder channeling a little bit of Scarlett O'Hara had me swooning.
The pre-show party on the portico of the Schermerhorn was extravagantly decorated and appetizers were served by Kristen Winston Catering. The weather was perfect and the air was electric with excitement for the show. Guests visited the bar featuring champagne from Pol Rogers and Athens Distributing. The flowers were lush with vibrant colors from The Tulip Tree and ballon installations by Vroom Vroom Balloon.
Hugh Howser and Kate Steele of HThree Events were the visionaries behind the atmosphere and decor.
Everywhere I turned there were the most stylish people I've seen in one place. Among the crowd was socialites, makeup artists, Nashville designers, bloggers, influencers, photographers, rock stars, and business executives. The elegant crowd was so energetic and everywhere I turned someone was chatting with me while I took their photos and I received multiple comments on my asymmetrical red skater dress-pictured here in studio by photographer John Brown at WELD. Dress is from ASOS and my hair and makeup is by Sam Brooke MUA.
Little Big Town brought down the house (dressed in Jason Wu) and sang three of their hits including "Girl Crush" and "Better Man".
The afterparty at Club Wu was a lush concoction of fresh flowers, and balloon designs. The man of the night himself, Jason Wu, joined the party and even jumped in the photo booth with party goers. He posed for photos for me with guests and seemed to enjoy the Nashville hospitality.
